The Recording Arts Center, San Diego's only Digidesign Authorized Pro School, offers a wide variety of classes with flexible schedules that are designed to give students the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the world of audio and post production. Our students learn in a real recording environment and have many opportunities to get involved in various sessions and projects.

TRAC offers a wide variety of classes with flexible schedules that are designed to give students the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the world of audio and post production. Our students learn in a real recording environment and have many opportunities to get involved in various sessions and projects. We are also happy to offer students the opportunity to retake certification courses again at no extra cost if they are not initially successful.
The Recording Arts Center operates out of 2 locations in San Diego. The North County location is a dedicated training space within Studio West in Rancho Bernardo, the largest and most established recording studio in San Diego County. Our second location is in the heart of downtown San Diego, just around the block from the Gaslamp District.

Signal Processing with Waves




: Course description:
An in-depth study of signal processing using WAVES plug-ins that is designed to give the student a full understanding of the major categories of signal processors and their functions and features. Although this course is designed around WAVES plug ins, students will learn enough information and vocabulary to apply the same techniques using other software- and hardware-based signal processors.

The Art of Mixing



: Course description:
This class is designed to give students a thorough understanding of the art of mixing both in terms of the overall process and the specific software and hardware tools used to achieve professional results. Emphasis is placed upon the importance of careful listening and the creative use of techniques designed to help students develop their own style.
