Bellflower Center for Prevention of Child Abuse prevents child abuse and neglect by breaking the cycle of child abuse in all its forms through clinical treatment and education.

The Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting trainings meet the in-service requirements of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services for child abuse recognition and reporting training. State approved in-service forms are provided.
Many courses offer Social Work and Counseling CEUs. Everyone receives a certificate of completion which teachers may use to request credit from their school boards.
With 30 years of experience in child abuse and trauma issues, Bellflower Center is one of Northeast Ohio's premier providers of educational programs for social services professionals, child care providers, teachers, and community groups. Bellflower Center is an approved provider of continuing education credits for social workers and counselors. Trainings can also be customized to meet a group's particular needs, and can be provided at your location or at Bellflower Center.

Bellflower Center for Prevention of Child Abuse is based in Cleveland, OH, USA
Bellflower Center programs include: the 24-Hour Family Helpline, a crisis telephone service for families and individuals; Tot-Line, a telephone service providing guidance for parents and caregivers of children 0-6 years of age; therapy groups for adult and teen parents; individual and group therapy for individuals who were abused as children; personal safety skills programs for elementary school children; and the Ohio Help Me Grow Program. In its role as a child abuse prevention agency, Bellflower Center has always provided training and education to the community. Bellflower Center offers training in child abuse recognition and reporting to child care center workers, counselors and teachers.

Kinship Care Home Visiting In-home program for grandparents and other caregivers and for the children in their care to deal with the trauma and other issues they face.
Teen Parent Group A therapeutic group focusing on the dual roles of teen parents. Discussions center on relationships, boundaries and other concerns of teen parents.
Teen Parenting Program Support, education, personal development and life skills for teens who are parenting.
Parent Education Programs Education and support for parents addressing topics such as discipline, anger management, family-of-origin issues, communication and cooperation.

Child Abuse Recognition Reporting Course
: Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting
This six-hour in-depth course covers the information needed to recognize physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect, as well as the mandated reporting procedures. It includes extensive case studies and discussion.
Many professionals are required by Ohio law to report suspicions of child abuse or neglect. Mandated reporters include attorneys, health care professionals, child care providers, teachers, social workers, counselors, and clergy among others.

Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Refresher Course
: REFRESHER Course
This three-hour course covers the basics of recognizing and reporting all forms of child abuse. It is designed as a refresher course for the six-hour class and is required for all licensed child care providers every three years.
All participants will receive a certificate of completion. Continuing education credits (CEUs) for social workers and counselors are available for an additional $10 fee.

: Understanding and Responding to Children's Sexual Behaviors
This 3-hour training provides an overview of childrena s sexual behavior from early childhood through pre-adolescence; from normal to problematic. The training provides guidelines for techniques when talking with children about sexual behaviors. Appropriate responses to promote healthy sexual development are also discussed.
