Southeastern School of Health Sciences (SSHS) is a division of Professional Safety Educators Incorporated that began operations in 1998. Based in Tallahassee, Florida, SSHS is an independent, privately endowed institution of secondary education that provides comprehensive professional development programs, continuing education and American Heart courses to men and women. SSHS offers diverse educational opportunities in health sciences to meet the needs of individuals, businesses, civic organizations, and government entities in the North Florida and South Georgia areas.
SSHS has a three-story, 6, 760 square foot facility, consisting of administrative offices and three large classrooms with a clinical lab and computer lab. In addition, SSHS has four smaller clinical classrooms designed for collaborative sessions and a student lounge.
We offer Continuing Education courses in CPR, AED, BLS, ACLS, PALS, International Trauma Life Support, First Aid, OSHA, HIPAA, Needlestick Prevention, 12 Lead EKG, EMS Refresher, and IV Therapy & Administration.
We also offer Professional Development courses in Phlebotomy, Advanced EKG, and Billing & Coding. All of our courses are offered to medical professionals and to students desiring a career in the medical profession.

EKG Technician
: This comprehensive 120 hour EKG course will include important practice and background information on anatomy of the heart and physiology, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, laboratory assisting, electrocardiography and echocardiography. Additionally, students will practice with equipment and perform hands on labs including introduction to the function and proper use of the EKG machine, the normal anatomy of the chest wall for proper leadplacement, 12-lead placement and other clinical practices.

Phlebotomy Technician
: This course is designed to instruct and develop the skills of the medical professional in the science of veni-puncture. The curriculum is designed to meet the standards of the National Healthcareer Association, a national certifying agency of Phlebotomy Technicians. The student will receive instruction in identifying equipment and supplies used to obtain a routine venous specimen, urinalysis, blood smears and capillary punctures.
