Private Equity International (PEI Media) is based in London, London, United Kingdom
Private Equity International (PEI) is the leading financial information group dedicated to alternative assets globally.
We started in London in November 2001 when a team of managers at financial media group Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, with the backing of a number of US-based investors, bought out a group of assets that centred on the website PrivateEquityOnline. com.
At the time the new company was called InvestorAccess, and the aim was to grow a specialist publishing business that focused on alternative assets - and private equity in particular. From the outset we wanted to be close to both the holders of institutional capital investors and those managers involved in alternative assets funds .
In December 2001 we launched our first magazine: Private Equity International. A year after, we had run our first conference in London and published our first book. 12 months on again and we had opened our New York office and launched two more magazines: PEI Manager and Private Equity Real Estate. Next came the opening of our Singapore office and the launch of our fourth magazine: PEI Asia.
Today we have four magazines, host three news websites, run 20 annual conferences globally, publish a library of 20 books and directories and have a fast-growing online data business.
In May 2007 we completed a secondary MBO that enabled us to own all of the business we have built - and give our original co-investors a great exit too. Renamed PEI Media, the company remains one of the few independent financial media groups.
We have grown into a widely-known and highly-regarded media business that delivers detailed coverage of the main alternative asset classes of private equity, real estate and infrastructure. We have members of our award-winning editorial team sat in all three of our offices London, New York and Singapore and likewise our conference business runs events based from each of our locations.
We feel strongly that the industries we cover are inherently international and resolutely cross-border - so to cover them effectively we must be able to connect with them in every market and in any time zone. We also expect to provide the most relevant information via a variety of channels, ensuring always that our clients value and relish the insight and knowledge we provide them.
