Our independent online courses are now open until October 31, 2009. The Solar Hot Water Course will give you 70 days to complete 11 lessons and the Photovoltaic course will give you 120 days to complete 16 lessons. On January 11th 2010 we will launch are next set of weekly scheduled lesson courses. The Fundamentals of Solar Hot Water Heating Course will run from January 11th, 2009 for its 11 week length at a price of $495. The Photovoltaic Design & Installation Course will run from January 11th, 2009 for its 16 weeks length at $595. Sign up soon as seating is limited to the first 50 registrations. These online courses concentrate on the basics of installing code compliant solar energy systems. These courses will be useful for people who currently work in or plan to be employed in the renewable energy industry. Student technicians will learn the practical design criteria, installation guidelines, safety issues, maintenance, and legal considerations of solar hot water heating systems and/ or photovoltaic power systems. The Sun Pirate Renewable Energy Technician courses are designed to follow the Task Analyses developed by committees of subject matter experts and adopted by North American Board of Energy Practitioners and in accordance with Interstate Renewable Energy Council/ IPSQ Standard 01021. Sun Pirate is recognized by Interstate Renewable Energy Council as an ISPQ Accredited Continuing Education Provider for Fundamentals of Solar Hot Water Heating, and Photovoltaic System Design & Installation Online Course. Both these courses also count toward the NABCEP required education training for sitting for their certification exams. Our Hot Water class counts for 40 hours of the required training and our Photovoltaic class counts for 60 hours of the required training. Solar Installer Hands-on Workshops will soon coincide with our online Fundamentals of Solar Hot Water and Photovoltaic System Design & Installation courses to provide hands-on training opportunities with training modules designed to allow real world examples and practice for student technicians. On-line study combined with hands-on practice will provide the student technicians with the foundation of knowledge to succeed in this exciting field.
