SowellEAC is the training and Certification arm of Custom Enterprise Solutions, LLC. We provide a range of Enterprise Architecture training, from 3-day seminars to our full, 3-week Certification Program through National-Louis University.
Our philosophy of Enterprise Architecture holds that Enterprise Architecture is a way of examining an enterprise holistically, from high-level goals through business processes to the systems that support the processes; and further that Enterprise Architecture is a human-intensive endeavor; and that the models created in the process exist to facilitate human analysis.

The lead instructor of all programs is Kathie Sowell, who served as the principal author of the Department of Defense enterprise architecture framework and has been known for the past 25 years as a thought leader and pioneer in the field of Enterprise Architecture.
Our curriculum is based on our Enterprise Architecture Framework which is a version of the Department of Defense framework (DODAF), tailored for a wider audience. Therefore, our clients include US Government as well as industry. A pure-DODAF program can be offered as well.
Because we believe strongly in learning by doing, our students build an enterprise architecture throughout the course of the training. This student project aspect is a vital part of the Certification program, and also of the 3-and 5-day seminars.
We also believe strongly in the value of face-to-face mentoring. Therefore, one day of each week of the Certification program is devoted to realtime mentoring by Ms. Sowell as the student groups build their architectures.
