Vocal Ease Communications teaches international adults (with accents) to speak American English clearly. Clear communication is our business. Our classes in Pronouncing American English are offered in private, workplace, and online settings.
At VocalEase, we teach people how to speak English clearly. We know that accents are not the problem (examples are Penelope Cruz and Arnold Schwarzenegger). The problem is being understood when you speak. You will learn where to place your tongue and lips in order to say the sounds that have eluded you, to use the music of English (pitch or intonation), and to speak at a rate that increases your intelligibility.
Our clients are smart, motivated speakers of other languages who want to pronounce American English with clarity and confidence.

Sherrin Loyd is an Executive Speech and Voice Coach and a Speech Pathologist with over 25 years experience as a voice professional. She has been on the faculty of California State University, East Bay, since 2000, teaching Pronouncing American English and Phonetics, and is contracted to teach classes at UCB, UCSF, and CCA. She has been successfully coaching executives and managers in corporate settings for twelve years.

VocalEase offers training classes and workshops on pronouncing American English (accent reduction/ modification), presentation skills, overcoming stage fright, and voice coaching. Many of these sessions are offered in small group settings with high trainer-to-student ratios (an intensive training class limited to 12-18 students will have small groups of 4-6 students each). Private sessions are also available.
The trainings produce tangible results: One busy professional went from unintelligible to 100 percent intelligible after 54 hours of 1: 1 training. Another, after 12 hours of training, was offered two jobs after her oral interviews were completed.
