"Andrew Craft is at the top of his game. He is a talented, lively, well-informed teacher who brings perspicacity and humor to his teaching. He was able explore the specifics of screenwriting and give illustrative examples from movies that really helped to clarify the points he was making. Andrew's class was also extremely motivational. I'm already on my way to writing my story thanks to him." -- Susan Schwartzman, Susan Schwartzman Public Relations

Andrew Craft's approach to memoir writing is simple: he believes we all have a unique story to tell and a voice to tell it with.
Today's flourishing market for narrative non-fiction demonstrates the fact that you don't have to be a celebrity or a Dickens to publish your memoir.
Structure is key: without a tight, solid structure, you will never be able to plot your life story in a way that grips the reader from start to finish. Andrew's course shows you how to weave the vignettes, ups, downs, trials, tribulations and lessons learned during your life into a structure that will keep the reader wanting more.
Your voice must be unique: how do you know when you have found your writer's voice? Andrew believes we all have one- it's a question of recognizing it-then learning how to use it to tell your story in the way only you can tell it. This course will show you how to identify, embellish and perfect your own, inimitable, true writer's voice.
You don't have to write the whole book to sell it. Andrew's course shows you how to write a winning proposal that agents can take to publishers who still pay large advances, even for first time writers who have a good story to tell. If you have wanted to write your life story for a while and not known how or where to start, of if you feel your story is powerful but are afraid people might not want to hear it, then this course is for you.

Memoir writing and the book proposal

: This program will show you how to turn your life into a story that will hook an agent or publisher. It's all in the telling. Understanding how your story fits into the classic model that agents and publsihers know will sell is of paramount importance. I will show you how your story already fits that model- you just can't see it yet.
Tracing your arc, finding the plot that is inherent in your life story and populating it with the characters that have caught and held your attention (then presenting those characters so that we are as drawn to them as you are) are some of the basics we will cover in this course. Crafting the book proposal that will land you the deal is covered in the more...
