David Walker SPCS is a Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Partner licensed to conduct the three day Introduction to CMMI Course.
This 3-day Introduction to CMMI-DEV course is offered to professional groups and corporations only through the SEI and its licensed partners. It provides participants with fundamental concepts for staged and continuous representation of the CMMI-DEV model, providing time for exercises, questions, and real-world process improvement examples.

David Walker is an independent consultant with 24 years of experience in software engineering, software quality assurance, and continuous improvement. He has worked with SEI models for over 15 years and is authorized by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) as a CMMI Instructor. He coaches software and system development organizations in biomedical, aerospace, automotive telecommunications, and insurance industries and has led software teams to CMMI Maturity Level 2 and 3.
He has a Master Of Science Degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University, holds an ASQ certification as a Software Quality Engineer, and owns David Walker SPCS, LLC, a SEI partner company. Through 24 years, he has been employed in the Software domain with Reuters, AT&T Bell Laboratories, Motorola, Abbott Laboratories, Pfizer, Johnson Controls, plus various consulting engagements. He is a 20 year member of ASQ and immediate past Chair of the Software Division. Since 2005, he has served on the AAMI Software Standards Committee and participated in the US review of IEC 62304 Medical Device Software Lifecycle and had helped medical device companies align with 62304.
