Concentrating Solar Power CSP - An Overview : The course provides an overview of the various concentrating solar power technologies and explores the issues which have to be taken into account when planning a CSP project or developing a CSP strategy for a country/region. The aim of this course is to provide the core information needed for the implementation of CSP, and to identify plans of action for creating and implementing the necessary policy environment and conditions.

Energy Efficiency in Industry and Commerce for Engineers : The course investigates the different energy efficient technologies and processes in industry and commerce. A technical description of EE measurements is followed by the economic arguments. Activities, project management and barriers are discussed for different industrial and commercial applications. This course provides details about minimizing operational and maintenance costs for the most common energy consumers in industry and commerce. The lectures are supplemented by exercises and experiments in RENAC s Training Center in Berlin.

Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment : The course covers energy efficiency (EE) in the built environment and gives a framework for international exchange, state-of-the-art and innovative approaches in building design, components, materials and the construction. The training focuses on cost effectiveness of different EE measures, legal frameworks and standards. Lectures are supplemented by practical exercises and demonstrations in RENAC s Training Center in Berlin.

Managing Photovoltaic Projects Market Conditions Economics and Sales : In this course, participants with little or no knowledge about photovoltaics learn about the important non-technical aspects for the successful marketing, sale and implementation of solar projects. The course gives an overview of PV technology and highlights aspects of solar marketing and solar-specific legal and contractual issues further on. It enables participants to perform an economic analysis of PV projects and to set up suitable financing.

PV Engineering Training Grid Connected Applications : The course covers all relevant aspects of planning, installation, maintenance, quality management and monitoring of grid connected PV systems, together with important non-technical issues related to the operation of PV systems (legal aspects, funding schemes, contracts, permits and insurance). Potential applications are surveyed. The course combines theory with practical training in RENAC s Training Center.

PV Engineering Training Off-Grid Applications : The course covers relevant aspects of planning, installation, maintenance, quality management and monitoring of off-grid PV systems, together with important non-technical issues related to their operation (profitability calculations, marketing, safety). Potential applications are surveyed. The course combines theory with practical training in the RENAC s Training Center.

Understanding Photovoltaics Technical Training for Non-Technicians : In this course, participants with little or no technical experience can develop an understanding for PV technology so that they can assess PV projects from a technical perspective. The course covers planning, installation, maintenance, quality management and monitoring of grid-connected and stand-alone PV systems and includes a survey of potential applications. It combines theory with practical training in RENAC s Training Center.

Solar Cooling Systems for Engineers and Technicians : In this course, participants with a technical background but little or no experience of solar cooling can learn about different solar cooling technologies and their application. The course demonstrates in a practice-oriented way how to implement solar cooling systems, from planning and installation through to operation and maintenance. An introduction to the economic aspects of solar cooling completes the course.

Large-Scale Solar Thermal Systems Design and Installation : The course provides knowledge on large-scale solar thermal systems. It covers design, installation, operation and monitoring and includes dynamic system simulations. Case studies of, for example, hospital and hotel systems will be presented. The training includes economics and calculations on different system designs. The training combines theory with practical training in the training center and shows different system designs in running applications
