OCS Training Institute, based in Houston, TX, offers instructor-led courses in electrical equipment for hazardous areas. These courses are based in global and national standards, and can greatly increase the safety of facilities and organizations by providing the proper knowledge and skills for safely installing, maintaining, and inspecting electrical equipment installed in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres. We also offer courses in hydraulics, OSHA-safety (under affiliation with an OSHA Regional Training Center), and are developing other courses in electrical safety and electrical skills.
OCS Group is based in Houston, TX, USA
OCS Training Institute was formed by our parent company, Offshore Commissioning Solutions, to address shortages in critical skills within the oil & gas industry as well as other industries. Our initial focus has been on Hazardous Area (Location) management, helping companies and their employees learn how to operate areas with potentially explosive atmospheres safely and within relevant standards. OCS Training Institute is the ONLY training organization in the USA to be certified to conduct Compex, which is the standard for hazardous area training in the UK, Europe, and other parts of the world, and is based on global IEC standards. We have also developed similar courses based on American standards.

OCS Training Institute is developing further courses in hydraulics, electrical standards & practices, and failure analysis. We are now affiliated with the University of Texas at Arlington, which is a Region VI OSHA Training Center, and can now offer OSHA-certified courses. We are poised to receive accreditation by the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and the American Petroleum Institute (API).

OCS Training Institute will open a brand new, state-of-the-art training center in Houston, Tx in mid-October. This new facility will offer a wide range of capabilities, including the ability to offer large room facilities, along with a large area for "hands on" training.
