Chic Home Interiors offers several certifications for design, real estate and other business professionals: Certified Staging Professional, Dewey Color Consultant, Live Green Live Smart Certified Professional, and CSP Elite Affiliate ( a home staging designation exclusively for Real Estate Professionals). Additional, we design and implement in-house green training for business, including Recycling & Waste Reduction, Water and Energy Conservation, Composting, Toxins & Indoor Air Quality.
The 3-Day Certified Staging Professional workshop is a comprehensive program taught through hands-on interaction, with group exercises, role-plays and in depth practical application of work samples, geared to prepare participants to enter the Staging industry with confidence and experience necessary to succeed. The 2-Day Dewey Certified Color Consultant Course is a certification program based on the Dewey Color System that does ensures that the designer s color recommendations will create an environment that really takes into account the client and their color sensibilities. The Dewey Color System, the world s first scientifically validated color test, has been compared favorably in scientific journals to the Strong Interest Inventory and other psychological testing instruments. We Make Color Easy has taken the principles of the Dewey System and, with the assistance of experienced design professionals from across North America, created a training course that makes color recommendations easy. Now design professionals have a system and tools which allow us to conduct in-home consultations that recommend exact paint, fabric and accessory colors room-by-room without the fear of a color mismatch, using the patented Dewey Color Coordinator.
The 1-Day Live Green, Live Smart Green Professional certification is for all design, real estate, building and business professionals who want a well-respected green certification to work with their clients. The Live Green, Live Smart Institute is an International organization, focused on environmental initiatives to design low impact, green, sustainable and environmentally friendly housing. The Live Green, Live Smart certification program is based on primary practical research while building The Sustainable Home, one of the world s greenest homes, which was awarded the first LEED for Homes Platinum Certification in December of 2007 by the US Green Building Council .

Chic's founder, Joanne O'Donnell, has been professionally staging quality homes in the Bay Area since early 2002 and training since 1975. She is a Trainer for the Certified Staging Professionals, assisting in the development of the program from the beginning, managing trainers and mentors in the acclaimed CSP organization and training home stagers throughout North America. She also taught the Accredited Staging Professional course in California and Nevada for over three years. She has trained both Real Estate Agents and professional Home Stagers in all aspects of Home Staging. She is the for the Real Estate Staging Association and was a charter member of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals. Joanne was instrumental in developing the prestigious Dewey Color Consultant program as part of their Advisory Council and currently teaches the program in Northern California. Certified in Staging and Redesign by the Society of Decorating Professionals, Joanne is a well respected leader in the Staging, Color and Design industries.
Joanne was trained in sustainable practices and green build science by the founder of the Live Green Live Smart Institute, Peter Lytle. She has been training professionals in the USA and Canada since 2008 and began doing sustainability consulting and green team building in 2009. Chic Home Interiors is a proud green business, using EcoStaging practices in their design projects and sustainable principles throughout their operation.
Joanne attended the University of Illinois for both her undergraduate and graduate studies. She has successfully translated her 25 years of solid business and interpersonal experience as a Human Resource Manager and Executive Recruiter to an exceptional customer service culture at Chic. Joanne has leveraged the knowledge she shares with her students to focus on building Chic into the premier Home Staging Company in the Bay Area.
