Innovation-TRIZ

Innovation-TRIZ is responsible for AIChE and ASME's organization's introductory chemical engineering and inventive problem solving (TRIZ) training. "TRIZ" is a "left brained" inventive problem solving process that uses the established patterns in the patent literature and examples from parallel universes of technology to greatly shorten the time required to develop breakthough ideas and solutions to long standing problems. We have done on site TRIZ training and problem solving for Fortune 500 organizations including S. C. Johnson, Dow Chemical, GM, Lockheed Martin, and many others. Our on site and public courses are highly interactive with using both client and outside examples to blend expereince with client needs. We also use TRIZ principles to improve a client's patent filings and show how to circumvent competitive patents that are pereceived to be "blocking". TRIZ is a fare more efficient process than any psychologically based process such as CPS, brainstorming, or DeBono techniques, which typically generate hundreds of useless ideas and measure success by how many ideas are generated and not how many are useful
Our chemical engineering training covers virtually all chemical engineering unit operations and shows the key variables of concern in operation, design, and scale up. This 3 day course, offered publicly by ASME and AIChE, and on site, covers all major aspects of chemical engineering including safety and reactive chemicals, stochiometry, mass and energy balances, mass transfer and separations, evaporation, drying, solids handling, plastics and polymers, and process control.
We are also uniquely certified in both social style (MBTI/ 16Types) and problem solving style assessments, allowing us to work with teams to improve their productivity by helping teams understand their individual differences, j the plusses and minusses of each style, and the perspectives that might be missing in their team. We run 2 day workshops in this area with real teams on real problems of concern.

Innovation-TRIZ teaches your people to solve problems in a scientific way, not a random guessing way. Using proven inventive principles from the patent literature, we can teach anyone to solve their most difficult problems, using the inventive principles seen in millions of the world's most inventive patents. No need to generate hundreds of dumb ideas to find the few good ones. Be productive, not prolific, in your problem solving
We are also a rare firm in that we are certified in both social (MBTI/ 16Types) and problem solving style (Kirton KAI) assessments, allowing us to assist corporations in assembling teams that not only understand each othere, but can work together in true problem solving situations.
We also teach non-engineers how to think like a chemical engineer. In a 3 day course, we cover 4 years of a chemical engineering education, allowing attendees to understand the principles of chemical safety, chemical reactions, mass transfer and separation technologies, process control, evaporation and drying, polymer and plastics processing, as well as mass and energy balances.
Chemical Engineering
Introduction to Chemical Engineering : This training workshop is designed for both non-technical and technical personnel needing to interface with chemical engineers and understand the basic principles of chemical engineering including safety and reactive chemicals, mass and energy balances, kinetics and reaction engineering, separation unit operations (distillation, absorption, stripping, chromatography), process control, reactors and mixing, plastics processing, and solids handling
Problem solvingTRIZ Inventive Problem Solving
Introduction to TRIZ Inventive Problem Solving instructor led traininggroup study and discussione-bookworkshop / seminar : 3 Day public course offered by ASME and AIChE, taught by Jack Hipple, certified TRIZ specialist and TRIZ trainer for ASME and AIChE. This program covers the basics of TRIZ including patterns of invention, Ideal Final Result, resource identification and use, contradiction resolution, 40 inventive principles and separation principles, use of TRIZ in management and organizational problem solving, use fo TRIZ in failure analysis and prediction, and lines of evolution to improve business and technology planning and forecasting, as well as improving and circumventing intellectual property.
TRIZ Lines of Evolution for Strategic Planning : This is a one day workshop sponsored by the World Future Society on the use of TRIZ Lines of Evolution for forecasting and strategic planning. These TRIZ lines of evolution have been derived from the study of millions of global patents and allow the mapping of future technologies in a known, predictive way. The efficieincy of this process greatly excedes that acheived through extrapolations and consumer research
