Arul John Peter, holds an MBA and majored in strategic human resource management. He also holds a Bachelor of Science as his basic degree and professional qualification in administrative and people management from the Institute of Administrative Management, United Kingdom. He attended the 4 weeks Train the Trainer Programme (based on the Adult Learning Principles) conducted by Clyde Cameron College, Australia He is a member of the American Creativity Association. He is the
Treasurer of the ACA 2008 Singapore Conference, which will be hosting the International Conference on Creativity in Singapore from 25-29 Feb 2008.
He is an associate facilitator/ trainer with Ong Teng Cheong Institute of Labour Studies, Singapore Quality Institute International (SQII) and Management Development Institute of Singapore. He regularly conducts customer service focused workshops with Singapore Quality Institute International. Service personnel and Service Supervisors from corporations such as Quality Hotel Singapore, Singapore Petroleum Company and Cooper Cameron attend the Service Excellence Workshops.
John has been a trainer/ facilitator for the past 20 years. He started his career in the Singapore Civil Service in 1971. After 15 years in the Civil service, he joined an International Trade Secretariat in 1986, which is based in Geneva, as a Project Officer (responsible for training and development) for the Asia-Pacific region. During his tenure with the International Trade Secretariat, he was conducting training workshops in countries such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Fiji, Australia, Philippines, Thailand, India and several other Asian countries. He is well versed with the multi-cultural work environment in Asia-Pacific region. For the last 8 years, he is involved in training and staff development activities through Centre for Creative Thinking.
John was the Chief trainer/ facilitator for the Works Skill Training Programme
coordinated by Ong Teng Cheong Institute -NTUC on behalf of Ministry of Manpower/ Workforce Development Agency. Through this programme he was involved in training of more than 2000 participants.
John attended the Employability Skills System (ESS) Train the Trainer workshops conducted by Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Manpower, on Personal Effectiveness, Communication & Customer Relationship, Personal Effectiveness, Health & safety and Problem Solving & Decision Making. He also successfully completed the WDA s 5 day Competency Based Assessment Workshop in March/ April 2005.
As a Trainer, John facilitates management seminars and workshops in the areas of Customer Service Excellence, Managing Difficult Customers, Communication Skills, Change Management, Creativity & Innovation, Personal Development Workshops, and Public Speaking Skills for clients in Malaysia and Singapore.
